11-74 Pocsag Encoder with 12
discrete inputs
 |
11-74 is a Pocsag
encoder which can be controlled via an RS232 serial interface to provide numeric,
alphanumeric and tone-only encoding. This enables a user to call a pager (over 2,000,000
codes), append an appropriate priority level (1 to 4), and add a numeric or alphanumeric
message. Messages are limited to 120 characters by the 11-74 buffer size, and to 240
character pre-defined messages. Serial control is achieved using ASCII character commands. |

POCSAG ENCODER
 |
The
12-06 is a simple POCSAG 512bps message generator integrated into a
serial lead suitable for interface with 11-72 & 11-78 transmitters or
similar.
Serial communications with PC is 9600bps, N, 8, 1. 1200 and 2400 bps are
also available. The data rate is fixed on both ports and is not
adjustable.
The
12-06 will handle up to 900 characters of message. A PET password
is not required.
No
installation required, simply plug the D9 socket of the 12-06 to a
serial port on the PC and the second D9 to 11-72 or 11-78 transmitter.
The 12-06 is powered from the transmitter.

11-97
Data modem

The
11-97 1200 baud Radio Data Modem is a low cost user-configurable
Full Duplex AFSK modem (modulator/demodulator) capable of data speeds up
to 1200 baud. The modem is compatible with the CCITT V.23 standard.
Various baud rates allow a data rate of between 0 and 120 bytes per
second on a coventional 3 kHz bandwidth carrier. No data processing or
bit synchronisation occurs in the modem, allowing the external devices
total control over data protocols and formats.
A
power saving mode can be enabled. This turns off the RS232 drivers
whilst the radio is not busy, and allows a 30% saving in power
consumption in standby.
Where
no RTS signal is available, a novel automatic PTT system can be enabled,
which asserts the Radio PTT when data is sent to the modem. This
requires preamble in the transmitted data stream.
The
Clear to Send CTS output is derived from the Busy signal from the radio,
and can be link selected active High/Low, or looped back to make it
dependent on the RTS (PTT) input.
The
Data Carrier Detect output of the modem is derived from an AFSK carrier
energy detector, and its state can be monitored by the LED. The output
on the comms connector can be link selected active High/Low. Received
data is gated with the DCD signal, to stop corrupted data output when no
carrier is present.
The
unit is housed in a rugged die-cast aluminium case with D type
connectors.
