The main goals of modern communications system design include Convergence of Voice, Data & Video, Standards based, open protocols and Individual IP addresses for full end-devices.
The Ara-1 extends the coverage ansd capabilities of an existing SIP PBX by allowing the interface of LMR radios to the system. Analog telephones can also be used with SIP simply by using optional interface unit ATA.

The ACU-2000 IP offers a full suite of network capabilities including linking of radios over an IP network, control of large interoperability systems via IP, remote channel change over IP and the ability to interface radios via SIP. Similar to ACU-1000,
ACU-2000IP is modular, completely scalable and able to link different communications systems. These systems can be linked, monitored and controlled over an IP network and SIP capabilities allow SIP based systems or individual SIP end points such as
SIP phones or soft phones to be included in the interoperable communications
